Experienced freelance technology writer needed to write magazine-style features on issues that impact wireless technology companies. The stories will run on a monthly corporate magazine website. Are you familiar with WiMAX, Unified Communications, G3, G4 and server technology? Do you know what people mean when they talk of IMS, CDMA, GSM, but also know how to clearly explain tech gargon and acronyms? Can you write to a business audience?
We’re looking for reporters who know the beat and have covered the technology for at least three years. We need writers who can both pitch their own ideas and cover assigned stories. The stories are 800-1200 words and pay $1.50 per word.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Freelance writer for Citrus & Vegetable Magazine.
THE MAGAZINE: Directed to the Florida citrus and vegetable industry, Citrus & Vegetable Magazine’s mission is to provide profitable production and management strategies for commercial growers in Florida. The monthly business-to-business magazine features full-color graphics throughout and lively copy about issues vital to the Florida citrus and vegetable industry.
WRITING RESPONSIBILITIES: The freelance writer will interview, write, edit and gather artwork for feature stories on a per-need story basis.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The freelance writer will also be responsible for writing a TOC blurb about their story and at least one sidebar to be included in the word count. Ideal candidates will be based in Florida and able to travel within the state for interviews. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
DESIRED SKILLS: Qualified candidates have a journalism background, specifically in trade publications. Ideal background would include involvement in agriculture or agriculture journalism. Candidates should possess strong interviewing skills, write concisely, pay close attention to detail and show initiative. Familiarity with AP Style and Microsoft Word required.
PAY: $450 for first story, $500 for each additional story

Math Grades 5-6 Teacher/Writer Needed
New York-based small publishing company seeks an experienced writer/teacher for an illustrated series of educational children's books in MATHEMATICS GRADE 5-6. Applicant MUST have U.S. elementary or middle school teaching experience and/or education degree and be able to write according to NY State Standards for curriculum (standards will be provided).
Text/story must be written in a dialogue format in comic-book style panels, with instructions for the future illustrator. Each book has a different set of characters. Plenty of room for creative expression.
For Grade 5, must be able to pick up from where previous writer left off. Applicant will be given material to write an unpaid sample mini-lesson of 250-300 words for review before a decision is made.
This assignment requires 280 pages (15 Grade 5 lessons and 20 Grade 6 lessons with 8 pages per lesson), beginning with Lesson 5 of the series. Compensation is $250 per lesson, paid via direct wire transfer. Communication is on-line.
