Math Grades 5-6 Teacher/Writer Needed
New York-based small publishing company seeks an experienced writer/teacher for an illustrated series of educational children's books in MATHEMATICS GRADE 5-6. Applicant MUST have U.S. elementary or middle school teaching experience and/or education degree and be able to write according to NY State Standards for curriculum (standards will be provided).
Text/story must be written in a dialogue format in comic-book style panels, with instructions for the future illustrator. Each book has a different set of characters. Plenty of room for creative expression.
For Grade 5, must be able to pick up from where previous writer left off. Applicant will be given material to write an unpaid sample mini-lesson of 250-300 words for review before a decision is made.
This assignment requires 280 pages (15 Grade 5 lessons and 20 Grade 6 lessons with 8 pages per lesson), beginning with Lesson 5 of the series. Compensation is $250 per lesson, paid via direct wire transfer. Communication is on-line.
